A b o u t

My name is Roman Kägi and I’m a 28 year-old wildlife & travel photographer based out of the beautiful city Winterthur, Switzerland. I have a passion for traveling and the outdoors and I am committed to the conservation of wildlife. The privilege and luck of growing up in a diverse beautiful country like Switzerland allowed me to spend much of my childhood in the mountains, which made me feel connected to nature from an early age on. Even nowadays, I spend almost every weekend exploring the beauty of my country: I go hiking with friends, camp under the stars and capture all the stunning facets Switzerland has to offer. When I am not traveling through my home country, I am exploring the wonders of our world. So far, my wanderlust has taken me to around 20 countries.

Roger Schank once stated that “Humans are not ideally set up to understand logic, they are ideally set up to understand stories”. I believe that photography has the power to convey these stories. Therefore, through my art, I want to increase the admiration for nature in people. I pursue to show wildlife and landscapes unusual to be seen and inspire people to take action and preserve our unique vulnerable planet and its ecosystem. Hopefully I can spark the light of change in people’s hearts and we can all work towards a future in which the state of nature is safeguarded.
